This is an informational page regarding the Sidewalk and Sewer line project on East Main Street from the Beaver Street intersection to Beaver Brook Bridge. Please check back often as important updates will be posted as needed.
WEEK OF JUNE 15
Stonework will begin on the retaining wall near #56 and #64 East Main and expected to take 2 weeks. Sidewalk prep and curb work will also continue next week. Work will continue on the sewer main extension.
WEEK OF JUNE 8
The stonework was delayed due to issues with utility pole stabilization.

WEEK OF JUNE 1
Work will continue on the new Sewer line from #48 East Main towards #28 East Main. Some work may begin on the retaining wall at 56 East Main Street.
WEEK OF MAY 25TH
No work is scheduled for Monday May 25th
The contractor will begin work Tuesday morning in the area between Dunkin’ Donuts and the Family Dollar/Laundromat. Crews will be installing new sewer manholes and sewer lines. This work is expected to include crossing East Main Street in front of Dunkin’ Donuts, time permitting.
WEEK OF MAY 18TH
No work Friday May 22nd
UPDATE 5/18/26!
THE CONTRACTOR TO BEGIN REMOVING THE OLD SIDEWALK ON WEDNESDAY 5/20/26!
“We plan to install approach signs tomorrow (5/19), this will have very low impact on the traveling public. Then, we will start removing the sidewalk on Wednesday the 20th. The message boards have been out for a few weeks, and we will update them today to reflect a 5/19 start to roadwork.”
No major work planned. The contractor may be doing some minor work like installing some signs, preparing for erosion control and starting to bring in some equipment.

“EAST MAIN STREET 1
Similar to West Main Street, East Main Street 1 (as shown on Figure 3) requires extending the
existing public sewer line west approximately 520 linear feet in order to connect (5) five of the (6)
six structures currently serviced by the East Main 1 Private sewer. Services for numbers 28, 34,
36, 38 and 40 would be connected to the new sewer as part of this work.
#37 would remain on the existing private sewerline for the foreseeable future due to the building
service location and elevation.”
