The Town of Wilmington is hiring multiple positions for its summer Recreation programs. These positions are varied part-time positions throughout the summer, and all include adventurous recreational fun with local young people!
For its Middle School Summer Recreation Program:
- Summer Recreation Director, July 13-31 ($25-28/hour)
- Part-time Summer Rec Camp Counselors, July 13-31 (entering grades 11-early college) ($16-18/hour)
- Bike and nets week site director, June 29-July 3 ($25-30/hour)
- Arts week instructors and youth counselors, July 6-10 (arts/crafts of all types) (counselor $16-18/hour, instructors $30/hour)
- Nets week instructors and youth counselors, July 6-10 (pickleball, tennis, volleyball) (counselor $16-18/hour, instructors $30/hour)
For its swim program (August 1-23):
- Lifeguard (Waterfront Red Cross certified, or ability and desire to become by July 2026) ($35-40/hour)
- Swim Instructor (Red Cross certified, or ability and desire to become by July 2026) ($35-40/hour)
- In-water helper ($20-25/hour)

Requirements: U.S. citizen, minimum age of 21; must have a valid driver’s license; high school diploma (college degree preferred). Applicant must be able to perform all the essential functions involved with police duties. Police testing, including a physical fitness examination, polygraph, oral board, medical exam, fingerprint check and extensive background check will be required of applicants selected for hire. Preference shall be given to VT-certified officers (hiring bonus up to $7500 for eligible pre-certified officers).
