Spring 2021 Bicycle/Sport Helmet Program
Over 200 winter and summer helmets have already been provided to kids in our community through this program.
The Wilmington Police Department has recognized a need to promote helmet safety in the community due to a large number of children without helmets. To help address this safety concern The Wilmington Police Department is again coordinating a free bicycle/sport helmet program. The program utilizes a helmet manufacturer selected by SafeKids VT that has agreed to sell helmets at their cost. This program is limited to students enrolled in grades K-5 at Twin Valley Elementary School or K-5 homeschool students.
The programs goal is get every child a helmet and educate them about helmet safety. In order to accomplish this goal the helmets in the attached brochure are free for families. This year the Freemasons of Social Lodge #38 have again generously agreed to sponsor the costs for the helmets for this program.
Attached is a (1) page brochure of helmets to choose from, (1) page sizing guide and a (1) page order form. Helmets will be delivered to the addresses provided on the order forms. We ask that you order one helmet per child and only order if a helmet is needed as funds are limited.
These forms can be downloaded at the Town of Wilmington website;
Please complete and return the order form by May 1, 2021 to TVES or Return by mail to Wilmington
