Proposed Work Schedule, Week of 6/25/18, Bennington-Wilmington NH SURF (51) [Route 9 Paving Project]

PROJECT LOCATION:   The Bennington-Wilmington paving project begins in the town of Bennington along Route 9 just west of the junction of Route 279 and Route 9 and continues easterly along Route 9 for approximately 16 miles. This paving project will include the towns of Bennington, Woodford, Searsburg and Wilmington, and ends at the Wilmington-Marlboro town line. A minor amount of work will be performed in Wilmington this year.

Work to be performed includes cold planing of the existing pavement, surface preparation, (including crack sealing, pothole repair and patching), a new layer of asphalt paving, installation of rumble strips in designated areas, pavement markings, and other related highway items.

PAVING: Side roads and drives will continue to be paved throughout the week of 6/25. Crews will be working from Bennington towards Searsburg.

BRIDGE JOINTS: Crews are scheduled to work on the joints for the bridges throughout the project next week progressing from Searsburg to Bennington.

RUMBLE STRIPS: Crews are scheduled to install center line rumble strips throughout the week of 6/25 in designated areas along the project.

MISCELLANEOUS:  Crews are scheduled to complete shoulder clean up from Searsburg to Bennington throughout the week of 6/25.

TRAFFIC DELAYS:  Work on all listed operations may require lanes shifts and/or single lane closures in the areas of active construction resulting in one way alternating traffic at times. Flaggers and uniformed traffic officers will be on site directing the flow of traffic. Minor delays may occur. Please plan your travel time accordingly. Motorists are advised that they will still encounter more than one active operation along Route 9 between Bennington and Wilmington.

Please focus on safety when driving through the construction work zone and remember, it is against the law to use a hand held cell phone while driving in Vermont.
