The Town of Wilmington requests bids for the construction of a ramp to Reardon’s Bridge at 36 West Main St to expand accessibility over the Deerfield River leading to a scenic hiking trail.
-The ramp shall be constructed with a combination of metal, wood and concrete materials. The ramp walkway material shall be of the same wood type and coloration as the existing bridge walkway.
-Ramp construction shall employ standard construction practices to ensure stormwater runoff is managed so as to prevent erosion and destabilization of the riverbanks during construction.
-Ramp construction shall not permanently alter stormwater runoff or cause erosion.
-The construction site shall be managed so as to ensure pedestrian and vehicular safety hazards through the construction process.
-Ramp construction shall not take place before the hours of 7AM or after 8PM.
-The bridge support will be 8 x 8 pressure treated wood, painted green to match the support structure of the bridge.
-The metal railing shall be powder-coated to match the green of the existing bridge.
-Ramp development shall meet all Flood Fringe Area requirements outlined by the Agency of Natural Resources and the requirements of the National Flood Insurance Program.

The Town of Wilmington reserves the right to advertise for new proposals; to request additional information from any or all submitters; to negotiate or consult with any source or RFP submitter; to cancel in whole or in part this RFP; to accept or reject any and/or all proposals, in whole or in part, with or without cause; to waive any informalities, formalities, and technicalities in the process; and to make awards in any manner that is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
Insurance Requirements Upon Contract Approval:
Certificate of Liability Insurance in the minimum amount of $1,000,000, naming the Town of Wilmington as an additional insured and a Certificate of Workers’ Compensation Insurance is required. The Federal W-9 Form will be completed and returned to Town, if applicable.
